I used my first computer in 1988 when I bought a Macintosh as required by Dartmouth College. Since that time I have become an adept user and very quick learner, capable of learning programs straight from manuals in only 23 days time. I have used both Macs an PCs for a variety of projects. Sense of Place Electronic Magazine Founded Sense of Place, the first formatted (pictures and formatted text) electronic magazine sent over an electronic network, perhaps in the world. In 1989 I created the environmental magazine at Dartmouth College on Macintosh. Taking advantage of Dartmouths advanced hard-wired campus, I was able to create this publication and send it out across campus and eventually off campus. The novelty of the project attracted reporters from The New York Times, Voice of America, American Forests, and environmental journalist and Dartmouth professor Donella Meadows who wrote about me in her nationally syndicated column, Global Citizen. Have been using the Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Outlook, Excel) suite and Adobe PageMaker since 1989. I use Photoshop, Quicken, Dreamweaver MX, Visio, and a variety of smaller programs. I read CNET weekly newsletter on new programs for PC. top
